I was rather unfamiliar with fashion. I was not confident in my taste in art. However, I liked making things.I loved to think creatively about whatever I was making. For this reason, I enrolled in a high school affiliated with the Tokyo Institute of Technology. There I studied three-dimensional modeling.

When it came time to go to college, I chose to step away from the making things path for a time and enrolled in pharmacy school. At that time I didn't think I could make enough money making things for a job. If I studied pharmacy and became a pharmacist, I could earn a lot of money. But life there was very painful. I was not sure what to expect, because pharmacy school left no room for creativity. I had some idea of what to expect before entering the school, but it was harder than I had anticipated.

Therefore, I took time out of my pharmacy studies to start making clothes. The reason why I chose to make clothes was because I wanted to communicate what I made.Just by wearing clothes, other people can see what I have created.

I was never a fashionista to begin with, but that was because I thought it was all about looks. I thought it was art. It wasn't until I started making clothes that I understood how function can add depth to an outfit. When I was browsing thrift stores for design reference, I noticed a riders' jacket. I was shocked by the rationality of the zippers, pocket locations, adjusters, and everything else. From there I understood the importance of functionality in clothing design. And as I continued to make clothes I decided to quit college and enroll in Bunka Fashion College.

The fashions I create do not demand a specific emotion from the wearer or viewer.

I do not want to be an artist or designer, but an inventor. I don't think it's pointless to include some kind of background to fashion, and I sometimes do. However, fashion is essentially a tool.

For example, there are many different types of clothing worn on the streets today. Among the designs found in them, those with a long history have some kind of functional meaning. And they are refined and beautiful in their history. I want to invent these kinds of new designs that will last for future generations. I don't want to revolutionize anything. I just want to add new value to fashion. I design from my daily life's realizations and ideas. I create clothes freely with free ideas.  Therefore, there is no specific person, culture, or music that has influenced me. Everything I have seen or heard during my life gives birth to inspiration by chance. If I had to say, I would say that the schott rider's jacket, which taught me about functional beauty, was an influence on me.

Fashion is not something special. It is a small part of life. However, the beauty of fashion is that it allows us to freely color our lives.
